Kraft faced batt insulation
Kraft faced batt insulation has a moisture control that resists water vapor transmission. Kraft faced is ideal for use in residential homes and commercial buildings. Kraft faced has a good sound control and thermal efficiency with R –Values up to R38.
Unfaced batt insulation
Unfaced batt insulation is a lightweight thermal and acoustical fiber glass insulation bonded with an acrylic thermosetting binder. Unfaced batt insulation is fire-resistant and controls sound through exterior and interior wall, floor and ceilings assemblies. Where vapor control is required a separate vapor retarder can be used
MR faced batt insulation
MR faced is a light weight formaldehyde free fiberglass insulation. MR facing is treated with a EPA-registered mold inhibitor to help protect it from the potential growth of fungi. JM’s formaldehyde free insulation will not off gas formaldehyde in the indoor environment. It improves indoor air quality while delivering
superior thermal and acoustical performance.
Comfortherm poly-encapsulated thermal and acoustical fiber glass insulation, is wrapped in plastic for more comfortable installation with less itch and dust. Comfortherm insulation carries a class A rating for low flame spread and has been classified FHC 25/50 by underwriters laboratories, meaning it can be used for some exposed applications where permitted by the local building codes.
FSK 25 batts
FSK 25 batts are laminated with an FSK (foil scrim-kraft) facing, which enables the insulation to carry a fire hazard classification rating of 25/50 or less per ASTM E 84. The FSK-25 facing also serves as an excellent vapor retarder and may be left exposed where building codes permit.
